How to harmonise human interests and the protection of our remaining natural heritage? That was our concern in March. Not only in view of the theme for our next European Ranger Congress: Building Bridges between Local Communities and Nature Conservation. We also look at how this key part of ranger work is realised on a daily basis, e.g. by working with Junior Rangers and volunteers.

We show how a limited Ranger Coin edition is helping unfunded rangers to attend the European Ranger Congress and published the first ranger videos sent in following our call, ranging from the Peatland District in the UK to the Negev Desert in Israel. Our Training Officer shares his insights on strengthening ranger ties beyond Europe after visiting Thailand. And two rangers give an insight into how it’s like to be a woman in conservation on International Women’s Day.
